I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
